In dieser Tour schauen wir anders auf die Werke als sonst \u2013 nicht in erster Linie auf ihre Motive, sondern auf ihre Herkunftsgeschichte. <\/strong><\/p>\n                        \n\n                        <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy block-margin-remove\" style=\"text-align: left\" >\n    <div class=\"container-fluid\">\n        <div class=\"row\">\n                        <div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-10 col-sm-offset-1\">\n                <div class=\"box\">\n                    <div class=\"copy editor\"><p>Sp\u00e4testens mit dem Fall Gurlitt ist die Provenienzforschung, also die Herkunftsforschung, in Deutschland auch jenseits der kunsthistorischen Kreise aktuell. Sie fragt zum Beispiel: Welche Vorbesitzer*innen hatte das Werk, bevor es ins Museum kam? In welchen R\u00e4umen hat es einst gehangen? Auf welchen Auktionen wurde es versteigert? Wurde es m\u00f6glicherweise j\u00fcdischen Vorbesitzer*innen unter Zwang entzogen? In dieser Tour erfahren Sie von den langen und oft wechselvollen Geschichten, die sich hinter einzelnen Bildern verbergen.<\/p>\n                        \n\n                        <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy block-margin-remove\" style=\"text-align: left\" >\n    <div class=\"container-fluid\">\n        <div class=\"row\">\n                        <div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-10 col-sm-offset-1\">\n                <div class=\"box\">\n                    <div class=\"copy editor\"><h3>Langwierige Aufarbeitung<\/h3>\n<p>Provenienzforschung wird in den deutschen Museen verst\u00e4rkt erst seit 1998 betrieben. Damals tagte die internationale \u201eKonferenz \u00fcber Holocaust-Verm\u00f6genswerte\u201c in Washington. Die dort verabschiedete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kunsthalle-karlsruhe.de\/glossar\/washington-principles\/\">Washingtoner Erkl\u00e4rung<\/a> ist ein \u201esoft law\u201c, also kein Gesetz, sondern eine moralische Selbstverpflichtung, die von vielen Staaten unterzeichnet wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Seither sind die Museen dieser Staaten aufgerufen, das durch die Nationalsozialisten unrechtm\u00e4\u00dfig entzogene Kulturgut zu ermitteln und zu restituieren, also in der Regel an die Erben der einstigen j\u00fcdischen Eigent\u00fcmer*innen zur\u00fcckzugeben oder eine entsprechende faire und gerechte L\u00f6sung zu finden. Ihre Aufgabe ist es, sich mit der Herkunft der Werke und ihrer Eigentumsgeschichte zu befassen. Sie antwortet auf Restitutionsbegehren und untersucht die Sammlung in eigener Initiative, um Werke mit problematischer Vorgeschichte ausfindig zu machen. Informationen zur Herkunft lassen sich teilweise schon auf deren R\u00fcckseiten finden. In Bibliotheken, Archiven und Datenbanken werden dann weitere gesammelt. Nach ihrer Auswertung erscheinen die Forschungsergebnisse in Vortr\u00e4gen, Publikationen oder Ausstellungen.
