Sa tendance \u00e0 l\u2019abstraction en fait un pr\u00e9curseur de l\u2019art moderne, et cela bien que son ambition personnelle e\u00fbt \u00e9t\u00e9 de renouveler l\u2019art classique. Ce faisant, elle rappelle que C\u00e9zanne est probablement le peintre de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 le plus de copies de ma\u00eetres anciens et d\u2019artistes contemporains, et qui a su extraire de ces \u0153uvres nombre de d\u00e9tails et de personnages auxquels il a donn\u00e9 une seconde vie dans ses propres compositions.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019exposition met par ailleurs en \u00e9vidence certaines ambigu\u00eft\u00e9s dans l\u2019\u0153uvre du peintre, par exemple lorsqu\u2019il liqu\u00e9fie des structures solides ou qu\u2019au contraire il mat\u00e9rialise des formes fluides. Ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 est notamment visible dans un tableau qui conf\u00e8re \u00e0 une veste pos\u00e9e sur une chaise une apparence qui rappelle le profil de la montagne Sainte-Victoire.<\/p>\n<p>Pr\u00eats<\/p>\n<p>Cette r\u00e9trospective exceptionnelle qui pr\u00e9sente l\u2019\u0153uvre de C\u00e9zanne sous une perspective radicalement nouvelle rassemble une centaine d\u2019\u0153uvres majeures pr\u00eat\u00e9es par de grands mus\u00e9es du monde entier : Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay, J.
