Parmi les \u0153uvres jadis achet\u00e9es par Caroline-Louise qui reviennent \u00e0 Karlsruhe sous forme de pr\u00eats temporaires, citons notamment un portrait grandiose peint par Antoine van Dyck (Washington), une marine dramatique de Willem van de Velde (Londres), le gracieux portrait d\u2019une cuisini\u00e8re peint par Gabriel Metsu (Madrid) et une nature morte aux fleurs exub\u00e9rante due \u00e0 Maria van Oosterwyck (Denver).<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est incontestablement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019action de Caroline-Louise, princesse cultiv\u00e9e, \u00ab \u00e9clair\u00e9e \u00bb et tr\u00e8s dynamique, par ailleurs artiste elle-m\u00eame, que la ville de Karlsruhe a pu s\u2019affirmer comme un centre des arts et des sciences de dimension europ\u00e9enne seulement cinquante ans apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e. La margravine ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 en contact avec de nombreuses personnalit\u00e9s de son \u00e9poque, on retrouvera parmi les 130 tableaux pr\u00eat\u00e9s par divers mus\u00e9es d\u2019Europe et des
