Le terme alt\u00e9risation (de l\u2019anglais othering, other = autre) peut \u00eatre traduit par rendre \u00e9tranger ou alt\u00e9rer. Il d\u00e9crit la distanciation et la d\u00e9marcation par rapport \u00e0 d\u2019autres groupes afin d\u2019affirmer sa propre \u2018normalit\u00e9\u2019 suppos\u00e9e. L\u2019alt\u00e9risation est un acte permanent de cat\u00e9gorisation visant \u00e0 faire la distinction entre \u00ab\u00a0nous\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0les autres\u00a0\u00bb. Cette attitude construit des distinctions fondamentales et les associe \u00e0 des jugements hi\u00e9rarchisants \u2013 que ce soit de mani\u00e8re clairement n\u00e9gative (p. ex. moins \u00e9mancip\u00e9, moins tol\u00e9rant, moins \u00e9duqu\u00e9) ou de mani\u00e8re exotissante, en apparence positive (p. ex. originel, proche de la nature, sexuellement et physiquement attirant). Ce m\u00e9canisme sert souvent \u00e0 maintenir des rapports de force sociaux, culturels ou politiques.<\/p>\n \n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
