Description

After relocating from Moscow to Munich, Wassily Kandinsky co-founded the artists’ group “Blauer Reiter”, whose members were not just concerned with reflecting visually perceptible reality in their work. These artists propagated art that was dedicated to expressing an attitude to life that was also spiritual. The dynamically vibrating Improvisation 13 is not purely abstract: from a distance a rider on a dapple grey horse — inserted diagonally into the format — can be recognised.
