According to the current regulations to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the museum can only be visited after the previous online booking of a timed ticket. Alternatively you can book the visit by phone  +49 721 926 2696 the previous working day by 4 p.m. at the latest. A negative Covid-19-test, a proof of vaccination or of recovery is required.

Visiting the museum during the Covid-19 pandemic
In order to contain the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infections, the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe has developed a comprehensive infection management protocol to help protect both visitors and employees as much as possible.
According to this protocol, the following rules must be observed during a visit:
• Please stay at home if you do not feel well or show any symptoms of illness. Please return for a visit another time.
• Until further notice, face masks are mandatory. Wearing medical face masks is required in all museum areas.
• Please keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres from other visitors and employees.
• Please note the contact restrictions instituted by Baden-Württemberg. Visit the museum only with persons with whom contact is permitted.
• Access to the premises of the Kunsthalle is currently granted only to a limited number of people at one time.
• The Orangerie will remain closed for the time being.
• The Family Lounge is not open for use until further notice.
• Folding chairs, buggies, and wheelchairs cannot be lent at the moment.

Library

The Kunsthalle Karlsruhe’s Art Library is one of Germany’s largest museum libraries open to the public. It houses about 170.000 volumes on many aspects of the visual art and over 1000 periodicals, of which more than 200 are currently on subscription.

The Kunsthalle’s buildings are historical, and therefore, present certain obstacles for mobility-impaired people. We have come up with solutions to help you get round these constraints and are constantly striving to make further improvements, so that people with special requirements feel comfortable during their stay.
