50 years ago, the Kunsthalle presented its first exhibition especially for young visitors. This made the children’s museum one of the first institutions of its kind in Germany in 1973. The Junge Kunsthalle is celebrating 50 years of art for children in 2023 with a colourful programme, a birthday party and an anniversary exhibition.
Whether rushing streams, leaping horses, swarming flies or spinning dancers: The anniversary exhibition offers a variety of approaches to movement in, with and through art. The exhibition is also an invitation to be active.
The exhibition Go! Art moves will be represented at two locations from 21 October 2023: Both in the Junge Kunsthalle and in an area of the exhibition KunsthalleKarlsruhe@ZKM, everything will revolve around the theme of movement. Works from the collection will be in dialogue with positions by contemporary artists. The movement of one’s own body, the development of mobility and technology, movement in nature, moving works of art and movement in creative processes are the main themes of the exhibition, which brings visitors closer to art in action.

Tuesday – Friday: 9 am – 5 pm
Saturday, Sunday and Holiday: 10 am – 6 pm.
